David Clegg

Executive Coach

David has a highly diversified background as a business owner and manager; a not-for-profit executive; a commercial banker; a consultant and coach to entrepreneurial/owner managed businesses; and a coach to senior leaders from large multi-national corporations. Since 1991 Carlisle Group Inc has provided consulting services in the areas of business and strategic planning, management, and business transition assistance to privately held companies. Clegg targets companies with annual revenues ranging from $1 million to $30 million in revenue. Clegg has operated CEO Partners, a peer coaching program for owners of privately held companies since 1996. Through monthly/quarterly meetings for groups of 5 – 12 members, and through monthly one-to-one coaching/mentoring sessions CEO Partners has provided an opportunity for business owners to learn from each other’s experiences and to be challenged to improve their performance as leaders.

Certified to deliver Premier FastTrac Training; ProfitAbility® Business Simulations; and administer the PDI Profiler 360.

David has a BA from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Political Science. He is a graduate of the National Commercial Lending School and the National Commercial Lending Graduate School at the University of Oklahoma. During his career he has been actively involved in business education programs for companies of all sizes. He has conducted numerous sessions of FastTrac II, an eleven week business planning course developed and sponsored by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation. He has conducted training for ProfitAbility® Inc using the Enterprise ProfitAbility®, Corporate ProfitAbility® and Managing for Value business simulations. During his tenure as president of the Indiana Institute for New Business Ventures, Inc he and his team developed and delivered countless seminars and day-long programs dealing with the growth and management of entrepreneurial ventures. He served on the Entrepreneurial Advisory Board for Ball State University’s award winning undergraduate Entrepreneurship Degree program from 1985 – 2009.

Coaching Client Base

Since 2006 Clegg has served as a coach to senior leaders through comprehensive leadership training programs conducted by the London Business School for companies such as Nestle, SABIC and Japan Tobacco International (JTI). Currently he has fifteen SMB clients in the greater Indianapolis metropolitan area who receive monthly two-hour coaching sessions at their places of business. Many of these clients have been working with David for 5 – 10 years. As he has been told numerous times his role is to challenge, encourage and make his clients feel uncomfortable!
